AUSTRALIA WINS THE TOSS AND ELECTS TO BAT

  Michael Clarke won the toss and chose to bat in good batting conditions on a warm day. Michael Hussey was rested.

India continued with their rotation policy of their openers, resting Sachin Tendulkar and bringing in Gautam Gambhir to open with Virender Sehwag. The middle order remained the same. India made another change, bringing in Umesh Yadav ahead of Praveen Kumar. Whether Praveen was dropped, resterd or injured, Dhoni didn't say.here one feels that irfan deserved a chance to play because the seaming wickets suits his bowling style and could have extracted some swing early on and strengthned the indian batting
